APRIL HIGHLIGHTS
What's been going on in the studio in April?
It's been an awesome month with some awesome projects and some very happy (and awesome) clients!
See for yourself...
Sam ryder ticket Promotion
Escape Records
Ticket promotion for Sam Ryder concert in Swansea. Summer’s the season for events – so it was lovely to be asked by the legends at Escape Records to get this onto Spotify.
Enrollment advert
Leeds City College
It’s also time when colleges and universities start looking towards a new influx of super students – and together with my friends at Ark and Luminate, we got to grips with a load of scripts for colleges across Yorkshire to start spreading the word. This is all part of a much wider campaign to stagger across the Summer – from those who know where they’re going, to those who are keeping their powder dry until after results. It was great to work with voiceover, Rio Attoh-Wood, who never fails to deliver a spot on read every time. Makes my job sooooo much easier!
Special offer advert
J Haynes Opticians
Some people hate the sound of their own voice. Not me! I’m always happy to produce free demos of scripts I’ve written – after all, it’s audio…why wouldn’t you or your client want to hear (or at least have an idea of) what it’s gonna sound like? Sometimes, it’s enough to convince the client I should be the voice! This one was a good fun job to work on with the beautiful team at Fosse 107.
Seasonal advert plan
The Cheeseboard of Harrogate
Talking of fun…it was great to work with Adam at YOUR Harrogate on some of the cheesiest commercials I’ve ever written/voiced/produced for The Cheeseboard. 3 scripts to take them from Coronation to Christmas – planning multiple scripts to target different people at different times of the year really elevates a campaign beyond the bland, generic, play-it-all-year-round, ineffective approach to advertising. Props to the mercurially talented and equally bonkers Tom Turner for going all out on these beauts!
New menu campaign
The Timble Inn
Having a great voice is crucial to getting that cut-through you want. Bethan Dixon-Bate could read a phone book and make it sound sensational. So asking her to read the Spring-Summer menu for The Timble Inn was an absolute no-brainer.
New Launch
Zump
With mortgages going up and house prices in danger of falling – it was great to work with the fabulous CNS Media to promote a new approach to homebuying and selling with this one for Zump.
What a month...
Aside from the day-to-day, it’s also been great to work as part of the Collaborate Digital team delivering workshops in primary schools across Kent. Funded by the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner – we’ve been talking to young people about online safety and getting them to script and voice some of their very own pieces of creative audio. There’s some fab bits of audio (and a chance to vote for your favourite) if you just head along to https://www.youtube.com/@collaboratedigital4153
