JUNE HIGHLIGHTS

What's been going on in the studio in June?

Sometimes I’m asked to provide scriptwriting services, sometimes it’s production only.  Then there’s times where all they need is the right voice – or they need the job lot sorting - scripting, casting, making and delivering.  This month, there’s been a slack handful of all the above.  Want some titbits…here you go!

New Launch

Exeter Community Lottery

Great to provide the script and production for my Radio Exe chums promoting the new Exeter Community Lottery.  Again, with help from Radiocentre, getting this one cleared was a doddle.  This could have been done as a single voice script – but sometimes you need that extra oomph of an extra voice.

After I had so much fun with the poem last month, I was delighted when KLG came back and asked for another fun advert.  Always a pleasure to work with.

Delighted to be asked to provide the voice for Lytham Festival once again for 2023 – thanks to the team at cns media.  On TV and Spotify in the North West, I swear, if it wasn’t for kids or living in Hull, I’d be there! In my own small way, I am part of the line-up though, eh?!

Another chance to work with a marvellous client on behalf of the cns media legends.  Scripts were written in advance – it was just a case of getting Radiocentre Clearance (unsung heroes!) and booking in studio time for the lovely Chloe Atkins to step away from her day job desk and get behind a mic.  Special mention to Howard at Engine 7 and Alex at The Voiceover Gallery for making the recording session go so smoothly, and the ever-talented Sarah Sealey for providing her dulcet tones too!

George Formby is alive and well – thanks to Tom Turner!  It’s great working with voices who are prepared to flex their creativity and give different ideas a go.  This one started off as a free demo for Ann at Fosse 107 – and subsequently got the thumbs up as the final version.  Eeee, I love it when jobs work out well, and this one definitely turned out nice again!

What a month...

Aside from the day-to-day, it’s also been great to work as part of the Collaborate Digital team delivering workshops in primary schools across Kent.   Funded by the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner – we’ve been talking to young people about online safety and getting them to script and voice some of their very own pieces of creative audio.  There’s some fab bits of audio (and a chance to vote for your favourite) if you just head along to https://www.youtube.com/@collaboratedigital4153
